Large scale renovation of an inner-city Queenslander

2019’s complete renovation of this classic Queensland residence presented its challenges. The steep block required both careful planning and extensive earth works.  But the result was flawless!

The build involved raising the home, a detailed restoration of its original features including hardwood floors, VJ walls and the gabled timber façade, as well as the creation of new indoor-outdoor living spaces.

Featuring 5 bedrooms and new high-end kitchen and bathrooms, the design sympathetically brought together traditional and contemporary styles.

The terracing of the rear potion of the property, construction of a new glass-framed swimming pool and creation of an alfresco entertaining area entirely transformed the aesthetic, flow and functionality of the home.

Flawless new comtemporary build

Completed in early 2018, this ultra-modern architectural design epitomised luxurious small lot living.

The use of timber, glass and high-end finishes created a sense of opulence; yet the free-flowing floorplan created a seamless connection between its interior and poolside alfresco living spaces.

Attention to the finer details was very important to this client, as was utilising the home’s tranquil green surrounds and essence of its bayside location.

The outcome was a perfect blend between edgy contemporary design and relaxed functional family spaces.

Coastal-luxe renovation by the bay

This extensive home renovation project in bayside Manly included the addition of a 3rd storey.

The construction process was particularly challenging as the entire upper level needed to be loaded onto independent steel beams, with columns running from third storey down to ground.

But the result was spectacular. A fresh “beachy vibe” that also showcased elements of refined Hamptons style.

It’s unique architectural features included raked ceilings with exposed rafters, while the stunning interior design incorporated high-level finishes.

Traditional meets modern

This classic 1930s Queenslander was ripe for renovation – a perfect case of old meets new. The existing residence underwent extensive demolition and renovation, while two new wings were added to the property.

The style – traditional meets modern. This involved extensive use of timber trims and pressed metal ceilings and walls in an authentic nod to the home’s history.

Additional decks and patios with traditional features provide new avenues for indoor-out living, while new external stairs have become a signature feature.

To maintain the best quality standards and keep the project on track, MOG Builders employed careful project management practices and extensive client liaison.
